“A” is a 5 year old male with the following history:
- Normal birth, healthy baby
- Frequent otitis media, two sets of PE tubes
- Delayed language development, problems retelling stories. Events are disorganized and out of order. Frequent articulation errors; improving over time.
- Delayed fine motor skills – improving over time
- No academic problems, highest reading group
- Very good at math – completes calculations “in his head”
- Easily distracted by noise
- Frequently says “Huh” or “what”
- No social concerns – interacts well with peers

- Review the case information.
- Score all test results.
- Analyze the test results and compare to normative data. Describe the test results and their relationship to the normative data.
- Describe the overall pattern of the test results and what type (if any) auditory processing delay is present.
- Report on the type of delay or delays and the recommendations (at least 5) that you have for this child, appropriate to the specific type of delay you diagnosed.
