Four years after diagnosis, hearing has deteriorated for patient #2.  This was a noise-exposed patient on anti-retroviral drugs, and is consistent with the theory that noise in combination with drug use causes hearing loss.  Noise alone, as for patient 1, is not causing hearing loss.
