Another audiologist and I saw GC as a work-in patient in acute distress. She had been in vestibular rehabilitation therapy and reported it was easing her symptoms. She was placed on a home therapy program and two days prior, after doing some of the prescribed exercises, reported acute dizziness. Hallpike left was negative, but was positive right. She was repositioned using an Epley maneuver. She was tested for horizontal canal BPPV based upon her report that head turns were provoking greater than usual dizziness. Moving head right produced ageotrophic nystagmus, but this was also seen body right. We treated with “barbecue roll” for possible horizontal canal BPPV. We asked her to call to report how she was doing, but did not hear back from her.
