This presentation is designed to challenge you to differentiate between responses and “noise” and to try to make some sense out of results that are, at best, limited quality. Assume this is a newborn who failed neonatal screening and is just a week old.
- Your task is to find the errors in these “marked” waves (list what should have been done differently) and reinterpret the responses as best you can to determine if there is anything that can be said about this child’s hearing. You might imagine that you had received these (substandard) results after requesting records for a patient who is new to your practice.
