Case 8 Immittance

□       Is the right ear type A tympanogram consistent with the audiometric site of lesion, or discrepant?

□       Is the flat tymp in the left ear expected or unexpected? What types of problems cause a flat tymp? What does the ear canal volume either point to or rule out as a cause of the flat tymp?

Acoustic Reflex Data

Ipsilateral reflexes were absent in the left ear at 1000 and 2000 Hz, but present at 100 dB HL in the right ear at these two frequencies.

□       Are the present right acoustic reflexes consistent with your site of lesion?

□       Do the absent reflexes support conductive pathology or normal middle ear status for the left ear?
