Case 2 Otoacoustic Emissions

GM is geometric mean frequency of the OAE – use that frequency in answering the questions below.

O and X represent right and left ear OAE values, the triangle is the background noise value. Please find these in the charts and graphs.

□       List the OAE frequencies that are not normal.  When they are abnormal, do you think the abnormality stems from loss of outer hair cells or from excessive ambient noise?

□       Are the OAE results consistent with the audiometric data?
