Case 5 Audiometrics

S.T. WRS % @ HL
Right NR 115
Left NR 115

It was noted that the SAT (speech awareness thresholds) were 100 dB HL in the right ear, and 95 dB HL in the left ear.

There appear to be air-bone gaps, but the bone conduction scores are all “no response”. (The audiologist may have marked the bone as no response if the patient indicated a vibrotactile response, but the original case makes no mention of “vt” – it is just noted as no response.)

  • Can you say one way or the other – is there, or is there not, a conductive part of the loss?  Could his stapedectomy surgery come “undone” and could that account for part of his problems – or do these results rule out a mixed loss?
