The patient was referred to ENT, who provided medical clearance for hearing aids. We do not have the medical evaluation notes, but we’ll work on the assumption that the physician considered the conductive overlay not medically significant and recommended amplification, rather than surgical treatment.
- Does your hearing aid fitting formula incorporate in the air-bone gap in adjusting the gain recommendations, or is it providing the same hearing aid gain and algorithm recommendation regardless of the bone conduction scores that are input?
- Theoretically, what should the adjustment be for the conductive overlay?
- Will you try to amplify the entire frequency spectrum for this patient?
- Provide three hearing aid recommendations for this patient.
