Apologies for the tilt!  Above is the 226 Hz tympanogram for the affected left ear, below is the 1000 Hz tympanograms.

• The 1000 Hz tympanogram is not notched. What does that mean about middle ear resonant frequency and middle ear mass/stiffness?

The acoustic reflexes are shown below. Note that the deflection goes “the wrong way.”

• What pathology is most often associated with “antiphasic” or “inverted” acoustic reflexes?  Is this association scientifically valid?  Please research the topic.  There is a study that used anesthesia to prevent muscle contraction in patients with this inverted reflex finding. What did it show?
