• Case notes indicate that this patient did not want an ENT referral; he just wanted his left hearing aid replaced with a newer, smaller instrument.  He was “talked into” the ENT visit, although review of the file at the time the case was archived did not indicate that there was a treatment plan, other than to permit left ear amplification as the patient requested.  Do you think there may be active pathology in the left ear, and if so, what might it be? Do you think it would interfere with amplification?
