The results indicate a decrease in the hearing in the left ear. The right ear is unchanged from prior evaluations, which had indicated that the right loss is mixed. The right bone conduction from prior testing was equal to the left bone on this evaluation. (Again, this was an HMO that left it to the audiologist to determine whether to repeat testing like right bone conduction. Please note that if this were a Medicare patient or if you were billing an insurance company, you would either repeat the right bone conduction even though the loss was stable, or you would have to add a “modifier” to your billing to indicate ‘reduced services’ performed.)
