The patient again becomes symptomatic, with more violent dizziness episodes. Bouts of dizziness are lasting from a half a day to a day.
As has been the case with prior audiologic evaluations, tympanometry is normal and acoustic reflex thresholds are normal. Speech discrimination remains 100%, tested at 75dB HL in the left ear.
Bone conduction was also tested, and the loss remains sensorineural.
She received steroid injection. That did not relieve symptoms. She was then seen at the University of Miami where she received an endolymphatic shunt.
